ELEKTRA
Jennifer Saint (2022)

Jennifer Saint is one of my favourite authors to read about Greek mythology (aside from Madeleine Miller). Elektra was brilliant, really engaging and well paced. I struggled a bit near the end because Elektra and her mother are quite insufferable to be honest, however, that’s also what I enjoyed about the book. The characters aren’t painted perfectly, they are incredibly flawed, in a way that you can see how their anger and resentment eat them up. It was a nice reminder to not let our thoughts and emotions eat us up, to remember to understand someone else’s perspective whilst also staying true to ourselves.
