The Song of Achilles is in my Top 5 favourite books of the last ten years. Hands down. It is written incredibly beautifully — you can taste, smell and feel every word that Miller writes. It is so descriptive and emotive and is such a visceral read. Even though it’s the story of a very well known Greek myth you can’t help but wish it had a different ending, but the journey Miller takes you on is such a wonderful experience and so different from anything else I’ve ever read about the story of Achilles and Patroclus. I truly couldn’t put the book down.

A novel filled with intense and deep romance, the beauty of friendship and the importance of honour and standing up for what you believe in is good and right, the Song of Achilles has to be on your list to read this year. You won’t regret it, it’ll change you forever.
